Final Thoughts
Our trip is now over. I must say it was a great adventure. We got visit old friends and made new ones. We visited our family. We saw some of the most beautiful places around. All in all it was a great trip. And now back to work.
Beijing Zoo and Aquarium
China Day Six
I also got a pretty good video of some monkeys goofing off.
Be sure to check out the pictures we took at the aquarium.
From the aquarium it was off to look for souvenirs. We headed to the silk market for some more good old fashioned Chinese bargaining. Then it was off to dinner with our friends. We had Sushi (it was buy on get one free day). We took advantage of the deal and the great Sushi. After dinner we went to Dairy Queen. You may think we're joking but no they really have a Dairy Queen in Beijing complete with Blizzards and everything.

The Great Wall
China Day Five
The Great Wall was well great. We took a gondola from the valley up to the wall. The wall is situated on a ridge and you are greeted by a spectacular view of the valleys below. The wall seems to follow the ridge from horizon to horizon. We lazily walked the wall and took in the sites. We were even able to go up into one of the towers and take in the sites. It was pretty spectacular.
Getting back down to the valley was another adventure. We payed just a bit more to take a sled down to the bottom. Here is a short clip of what it was like:

Summer Palace
China Day Four
The Summer Palace is huge. You can really tell these guys had money. It faces a huge lake, which I believe was expanded by an emperor. We walked down the longest hand painted hallway in the world. True to their word it is really long. Each 6 foot section has a picture painted on each of the beams and another picture on the ceiling. When you hike to the top of the mountain that borders the houses and the lake you get a spectacular view.
